Dr Bryan Post a renowned expert and practitioner has developed a model which has had amazing success in helping parents of abused and challenging children move from a place of stress to a place of love. Co- author of the book “Beyond Consequences Logic and control “ Dr. Post and Heather Forbes have helped thousands of families worldwide. Together they have achieved unsurpassed success with families considered “beyond help”. You can learn the techniques they use and make a difference in your own families.

In our workshop you will learn not only HOW to change your child’s behaviour but how to move your entire family into a path of deeper healing. The Model presented helps parents gain a deeper understanding of the impact of trauma on the brain and moves away from the cognitive approach of reward and punishment to one which helps them form positive relationships based on a healthy connection with their children.

We will be running half day workshops from 9-12.30pm at Baden Powell House SW7 5. The first workshop will be held on April 18th 2009. Spaces are limited so we will have to allocate places on a first come first served basis. Please book early to avoid disappointment. WHAT?

Half-Day Workshop: Empowering Parents, Healing Families

We are Certified Instructors of the Beyond Consequences Institute and we offer a ground-breaking approach to parenting which provides parents with the tools to heal their families and build strong bonds of love with even the most challenging child.

How do we do this? By empowering parents through a better understanding of trauma and how it affects the brain, and sharing proven strategies to effectively change the basis of communication between families in a positive way. We are confident of the claims we make and therefore invite you to attend our one day workshops and experience the change in your own families.

Aims & Objectives:

• To educate parents/carers and professionals on the importance of understanding brain mechanisms when caring for children with trauma histories.
• To empower parents/carers and professionals to provide a healing environment for these children and themselves
• To educate parents/professionals using Stress Model to enable them to better understand their child's behavior
