What is a Baby? is a TeleClass series featuring Suzanne Arms and Rebecca Thompson.
This series is for parents, grandparents, childcare providers, babysitters, and anyone else who loves and cares for babies and families with a baby (midwives, doulas, birth educators, students in psychology, child development, etc)

Session 3: What Babies Really Need
- How views of babies have changed through culture and history
- Biological expectations of babies, no matter when (in time) or where they are born
- Ancient and modern ideas about “educating/teaching” babies in the womb and after birth
- How is what is good for the mother (and father/partner) going to also be good for the baby
- Defending ourselves or developing to our full potential: the science of cell biology, brain development and “epigenetics”
- The “dance” of the mother-baby (and father-baby), Rhythm & Pacing
- The role of the grandparent, and other adults in the baby’s life
Session 4: Myself as a Baby
What happened to us as a baby comes to the surface when we have our own children, whether we're aware of it or not. This can be a surprise and a challenge if you're not expecting it. Look deeper and you'll discover the window into yourself as a baby.

- Let’s look at what life was like in our family, in our home, when we were a baby
- How our past affects who we are, and how we think, feel and behave
- Cellular biology- epigentics
- Understanding our clues to our past are in the present moment with our baby. Awareness is the key to change.
