Joanne has a background in local government and training and assessing.

Ever since she first became a parent 18 years ago, the conventional way of parenting just didn’t resonate with her and she knew there was a kinder, more respectful way of parenting. However, like may of us she found herself following society’s norms more often than following her own truth. It wasn’t until she had her two youngest children that she finally broke away and started a journey of self-reflection and discovery in all areas of her life.

“It hasn’t been an easy journey, it opened up the floodgates of pain, guilt, regret, anger, resentment – firstly for the way I had raised my children in the past and also for my own childhood. However, I have now accepted that we are all doing the best we can with the information and resources we have and the circumstances we are in at any given time.

One of the tools I have found extremely beneficial in my own journey and that of my children is meditation. So in addition to my passion for parenting consciously I am thrilled to be able to empower children and help them stay connected to their own inner wisdom through the facilitation of children’s meditation classes.

I believe that the key to a better world begins with better parenting. Parents must decide that the wounding stops and the healing starts with them. I have a vision of a future filled with whole children and whole parents.”

• Certificate IV Training and Assessment 2008
• Certified Aware Parenting Instructor with Aletha Solter 2009
• Certified Children’s Meditiation Instructor with Satya International 2009
• Currently studying towards a Diploma in Child Psychology and a Diploma of Professional Counselling
