August 8, 2009: Raleigh, NC
Amazing Families invites you to “Healing Trauma: Supporting Our Children through Relationship-focused Parenting” by Rebecca Thompson of Consciously Parenting.
Are you struggling with difficult behaviors that you aren’t sure how to respond to? Or with behaviors that don’t respond to traditional parenting techniques?
Do you wonder what you can be doing in this moment to help your child heal from traumatic experiences, such as adoption?
Did you know that the trauma of adoption can affect our children years after it happened, even if they were too young to remember it?
Ever considered that your child’s behaviors are communications that tell you exactly what your child needs for healing?

Amazing Families is a support group for mothers in the Triangle area who are raising children who are having challenges due to early trauma that may have occurred between conception/birth and 3 years of age. Many of the mothers in our group have internationally adopted children from orphanages. Others have adopted through the foster care system in the United States or adopted their children at birth. Others are raising biological children who have experienced trauma at birth, were born prematurely, had medical trauma, or other traumatic events.
Further information on becoming involved with Amazing Families will be available at the seminar.
